Clearwater Lake Conservancy board of directors has approved treatment of Eurasian water milfoil in 2024

Alternative landowner notification
Name of pest to be targeted -Eurasian Water Milfoil,
Name of pesticide(s) to be used - ProcellaCOR,
Proposed dates for treatment: august/September 2024), and lastly
Contact Info for landowners to forward their opt out of treatment requests: [email protected]
 
If you DO NOT want Eurasian water milfoil treated  on your shoreline- send [email protected] an email that you opt out of treatment in 2024. If you approve treatment by your property, no other action is required.

Treatment Provider – PLM
 
Treatment Area & When – Attached is a map of the treatment areas, highlighted in yellow.  We plan to treat in 2 phases in 2024
  1. High boat traffic areas in august (plots 3-5, 7, 10-12, 17-19) to decrease fragmentation and spread
  2. Areas adjacent to bulrush/lily pads in September (plots 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 13-16) after the native vegetation has stopped growing to limit herbicide impact
NOTE: Additional areas were moved to the fall treatment after the lake owners e-mail distribution.   This was done to error on the side of caution around our native plants.  The total acreage has not changed.   This updated chart is what was submitted to the DNR for approval.
DNR Approval Permit is in process.
 
Funding Treatment – The cost of treatment is $38614  We have $3500 Crow Wing county grant   to help fund, with remainder coming from our Environmental Fund balance and donations.  Thanks to all who already made donations to our Environment Fund to cover this costs!  The “ask” we made this year was for $350 (tax-deductible), with additional amounts much appreciated.
