2020 Fall Meeting - Held 11/11/20

Since our last update the Clearwater Lake Conservancy Board has been busy working on the 2020 priorities we shared at our June 11th Annual Meeting.
The Board thought it would be helpful to schedule Lake-owner’s update, via a Zoom conference call.  It was held Wednesday November 11th at 7:00 pm.

Agenda:

  • Treasury’s Report - By Barb Schmitz.
  • Eurasian Millfoil Treatment – Our Lake treatment happened on Oct 7th.  The cost of the treatment, net of grants, was ~ $30,000 funded from our Environmental Fund balance and donations. Thanks to all who already made donations to our Environment Fund to cover these costs!  The “ask” we made this year was for $350 (tax-deductible), with additional amounts much appreciated.
    • Milfoil Infestation Maps
    • 2020 Milfoil Survey
  • Lake Homeowner’s Survey Results – We received great participation on our lake management plan survey.  Attached are the results, and will be posted to our website too.
    • To see the full report:   Clearwater Conservancy - Homeowner's Lake Survey
  • Managing Water Level – Working on beaver dam control and keeping our outgoing creek flowing.
    • Checkout our High Water Page.
  • Clearwater Forest Capital Campaign Update – The Camp is well into its Hallet Dining Hall expansion/renovation project related to their capital campaign.  With the huge value Clearwater Forest brings to all of us as lake-owners our financial support to them is important.

  • Q&A – Open up for any questions.

  • Board Voting Results
  1. The membership re-elected the Current board.

New board members were solicited, but no new volunteers expressed an interest.
If you are interested, please contact someone from the existing board.   There are committees that need help and
we would welcome all interested members.

   2.  The membership voted to create a DBA (Doing Business As) name; Clearwater Lake Conservancy.

This will not change our legal name.   All checks should still be written to Clearwater Lake Association.
The approval by the membership allows us to start the legal process that will allow us to use Clearwater
Lake Conservancy as an alternative name.
