Mille Lacs History

Fest & Rendezvous

The 24th Annual Mille Lacs History Festival and Rendezvous is being presented June 25 and 26. It will be located six miles south of Isle or 16 miles north of Ogilvie on Hwy. 47 and one mile west on Red Road. This living history event brings the early 1800s to life with woodsman, frontiersmen, trappers, traders and artisans. There will be demonstrations, storytellers, musicians, food, entertainment, a black powder shooting competition and competitions of other old- time armaments.  Something will be going on every hour!  Public admission is $3 and is free to those 10 and under.
The Mille Lacs Lake Historical Society and its friends and sponsors, along with a small but dedicated band of volunteers, have presented this educational and entertaining event since 1993. It brings 150-plus participants and hundreds of visitors to the Mille Lacs area each year.

Festivities for the 35th annual event begin in the afternoon with horse-drawn wagon rides, storytelling, food vendors, bonfires, holiday carolers and live reindeer.  At 5:30, the LIGHTS come on throughout town and Santa Claus greets the children, followed by Fireworks at 7:30.

Best Broasted Chicken around!  The chickens are never frozen and prepared on order.  That's about as fresh as you can get.   And the price is right, only 7.95 for 1/2 of a chicken!

Clearwater Forest Camp

Since 1954, Clearwater Forest has served as a retreat center and summer camp.  They are owned and managed by Presbyterian Clearwater Forest, Inc.  Clearwater Forest is an important resident on our lake.  With 4+ miles of lake shore and over 1000 acres around  Clearwater, everyone benefits from their mission statement "... be a faithful steward of God’s creation."
